Hemp Protein Pizza
Ingredients
Pizza base ingredients:
- 1 cup hot water 80-90 degrees C
- 1 tsp NUA Naturals palm sugar
- 1 tsp fast dry yeast
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup NUA Naturals hemp protein powder
Sauce ingredients:
- 1/2 Tin chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp dry basil
- Pinch of salt
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tsp NUA Naturals palm sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees C. Grease a pizza pan.
- Put warm water into a large mixing bowl.
- Add sugar and yeast and stir to combine.
- Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, or until it becomes frothy and bubbles form.
- Add olive oil and gently stir to combine.
- Add 1 1/2 cups of flour. 1/2 cup Hemp Seed protein powder and salt and mix with a wooden spoon until a ball begins to form (dough will still be slightly sticky). Add more flour as needed to form a dough ball and set aside to raise.
- In the meantime make the sauce. Add the chopped tomatoes, basil, salt, sugar and garlic into a blender and blitz it together.
- Transfer to a floured surface and roll dough into your desired shape and gently transfer to your prepared pan.
- To ensure the dough doesn’t form air pockets, use a fork to prick the dough all around (gently so you do not poke holes all the way through the crust).
- Add pizza sauce and your favourite plant based cheese (you can use toppings of choice)
- Bake on the lower rack of your oven for around 15-20 minutes until the crust looks crispy and lightly browned.
- Let cool, cut and serve with rocket leaves.
